The Bachelor of Science in Biology offers students comprehensive training in natural sciences, allowing them to focus on specialized biological disciplines and engage in faculty-mentored research. Graduates emerge well-prepared to pursue advanced studies in life sciences, healthcare professions, or careers in government and industry. The biology major curriculum satisfies prerequisites for most medical schools without requiring supplementary coursework. Note: Students cannot simultaneously or sequentially pursue dual majors in both Biology and Neuroscience or Biology and Microbiology and Immunology due to overlapping course content.
Upon completion, students will:

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
