The Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering (M.S.A.E.) program aims to deliver an excellent graduate education that builds upon the current mechanical engineering curriculum at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This aerospace-focused program will strengthen the skills of students pursuing careers in aerospace and related engineering roles within the aviation technology sector. Most M.S.A.E. candidates will hold undergraduate degrees in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar disciplines like applied physics or mathematics, while some may already possess graduate degrees in traditional engineering or science fields. Professionals with engineering and physical science backgrounds can leverage the M.S.A.E. to advance their careers and enhance their expertise in the aerospace and aviation sectors. Full-time students in the program will often collaborate with faculty to secure research funding and conduct cutting-edge aerospace and aviation engineering studies.

Qualification Requirements

The applicant must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related discipline. Admitted students with non-engineering backgrounds will be required to complete a set of course work requirements that will assure successful completion of the M.S. specialization and qualify the student to sit for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. The Graduate Program Committee or Graduate Coordinator will specify a list of required undergraduate courses that must be completed within the first year. These courses are in addition to those required for the graduate degree.

The GPC will examine the applicant's academic record and will make the final determination of the applicant's admissibility to the M.S. program. In general, a minimum post-baccalaureate GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent is preferred for admission in addition to a GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent in all engineering courses.
