The Department of Aerospace Engineering provides a Master of Engineering (MENG) program without a thesis requirement. Designed for industry professionals or those pursuing a complementary non-engineering degree, this program requires completion of at least 30 credit hours. Unlike thesis-based programs, no final project defense is necessary. While most coursework focuses on AERO or MEMA (Mechanics & Materials) subjects, participants may enroll in up to three external department courses (capped at 9-10 credits), such as mathematics, business, or geoscience. Students can include a maximum of two AERO 681 Seminar credit hours, with no repeats of the same seminar topic. Each fall and spring semester features two seminar options: Communication and Professional Development. The MENG program prohibits AERO 691 Research credits. A graduate director or designated faculty member acts as the sole committee advisor. Applicants must hold a bachelor's in aerospace engineering or a comparable discipline, with potential leveling courses for those from unrelated engineering backgrounds.
