This cross-disciplinary Ph.D. program offers comprehensive coursework and research training in neuroscience, with mentorship opportunities covering diverse aspects (from fundamental to clinical neuroscience, spanning molecular to cognitive studies, and incorporating various neural measurement techniques). Dissertation advisors and committee members will be drawn from multiple colleges and departments across UNLV. Graduates will be well-equipped to pursue postdoctoral research and establish independent research careers in neuroscience and related disciplines within academic, medical, governmental, or corporate environments.

Program Objectives
Participants will develop extensive understanding of neuroscience methodologies, theories, and discoveries, while achieving specialized expertise in at least one neuroscience subfield.
Participants will gain competence in conducting, presenting, and publishing both literature analyses and original research within their chosen neuroscience specialization.
Participants will acquire skills to develop and submit competitive research grant proposals.
Participants will demonstrate capacity to conduct ethical, independent research across academic, clinical, governmental, and industrial settings.

Qualification Requirements

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (A = 4.00) or a master's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.50. Applicants must have completed at least 18 credits in biological or health sciences, cognitive science, neuroscience, or psychology courses including Statistics and Research Methods or their equivalents, at the undergraduate or the graduate level.

Transcripts - One transcript from every post-secondary institution the applicant has attended (regardless of whether a degree or credential was earned), showing all coursework, extension and correspondence work, any degrees earned, and the dates that those degrees were awarded. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted as part of the application process. However, if an applicant is admitted, official transcripts will be required by the date specified on the Certificate of Admission. Transfer credits posted on another institution's transcript will not be accepted in lieu of the transcript itself. Only transcripts sent directly from the institution are considered official. Failure to disclose all coursework and/or degrees awarded will result in rescission of admission.
