Program Objectives
Graduates of the UNLV School of Music's Doctor of Musical Arts program will achieve the following:
Execute or direct performances and rehearsals in their chosen field at a professional mastery level.
Exhibit historical and theoretical expertise that informs personalized interpretations across diverse musical genres.
Possess in-depth knowledge of their instrument's or conducting discipline's evolution, along with comprehensive familiarity with specialized repertoire.
Master music research methodologies, including bibliographic resources and scholarly defense capabilities relevant to their focus area.
Develop proficient communication skills to effectively present and discuss works through both verbal and written formats, integrating performance, historical context, stylistic analysis, and technical insights.
