The Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies (BSUS) program prepares students to create positive change in their communities. At UNLV, this undergraduate degree equips learners with both theoretical insights and practical abilities to examine the structural, societal, governmental, and financial aspects of urban areas, from major cities to smaller towns.
UNLV's Urban Studies program develops competencies to tackle today's critical societal challenges, most of which originate in urban settings. The coursework features foundational classes that establish dual expertise in urban data interpretation and community involvement. Embracing interdisciplinary learning, the program enables students to gain specialized knowledge in various urban dimensions such as economic growth, environmental sustainability, public administration, or data science. A key component involves applying these skills to real-world community problem-solving. Participants collaborate with public institutions and local organizations throughout the Las Vegas metropolitan area during and after their studies.
