The MS/MSW dual degree program integrates the knowledge of faculty from both the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the Grace Abbott School of Social Work. It offers focused instruction on assisting at-risk and justice-involved individuals throughout various intervention stages, from diversion initiatives to reentry services. This program equips criminal justice practitioners with enhanced skills to support their clients while giving social workers deeper insight into offender demographics. Graduates emerge as highly skilled professionals ready for careers in educational institutions, healthcare organizations, social service providers, law enforcement agencies, and nonprofit sectors.
The UNO School of Criminology and Criminal Justice maintains national prominence in justice-related research and academic programs that enhance community wellbeing. Our curriculum emphasizes developing expertise, sound policies, and best practices in areas including Violence Prevention, Law Enforcement Strategies, Victim Services, Correctional Systems, and related fields. Undergraduate programs offer specialized tracks or minors in Victim Services and Police Studies.
