The Department of Biology aims to offer students personalized, comprehensive education in biological sciences culminating in a Master of Science (MS) degree. Both thesis and non-thesis programs emphasize original research as a core component. Our faculty specialize in diverse fields including ecology, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, taxonomy, animal behavior, and developmental biology across numerous species. The MS program equips graduates for careers in industry, government, private sectors, and academia, while also providing a foundation for advanced studies in PhD or MD programs.
Our department represents a vibrant, cohesive community where teaching and research encompass all biological disciplines—from ecosystem studies to molecular analysis, evolutionary theory to cellular processes, and systems biology to computational approaches. With groundbreaking discoveries happening across all biological domains and increasing interdisciplinary collaboration, the field offers unprecedented opportunities. We welcome you to be part of these dynamic developments in biological sciences.
