This CACREP-accredited program provides both Master of Science and Master of Arts degrees for those pursuing school counseling careers. The M.A. specialization allows students to gain hands-on research experience by completing a thesis. Ideal candidates for this track should demonstrate enthusiasm for research methods and possess a focused area of academic interest. Participants must adhere to detailed requirements and deadlines set by UNO Graduate Studies, the Counseling Department, academic calendars, and thesis committee availability. The 54-credit M.A. program with a School Counseling focus incorporates all necessary coursework and practical training (practicum/internships) for Nebraska School Counselor certification.
