The Geography program provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree options. For those seeking specialized study, elective concentrations are available in Geographic Information Systems or Travel and Tourism. These focus areas fulfill major requirements while allowing for targeted learning. To complete the geography major, students must complete at least 29 credit hours of upper-division (3000-level or above) geography courses, including those from the Geography Fundamentals and Diversity Requirements. Our department features BA and BS degrees in Geography, with specialized tracks in GIS and Travel & Tourism, plus a Geography minor option. UNO's geography curriculum equips graduates for professional paths in urban planning, environmental analysis, GIS technology, cartography, remote sensing, and various geographic research fields.
