The Department of Biological Systems Engineering provides advanced degree programs culminating in a Master of Science for agricultural and biological systems engineering as well as mechanized systems management. Additionally, the department offers a Ph.D. in biological engineering with focus areas including water resources planning and management, water resources engineering, and environmental studies. Collaborative Master of Science programs are available in environmental engineering, along with an integrated Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. Graduate research opportunities span diverse fields such as agricultural machinery systems, livestock waste solutions, animal welfare, biomedical applications, bioprocessing, computational methods, automation technologies, decision-making tools, environmental solutions, food production engineering, geospatial technologies, precision navigation systems, water resource management, irrigation design, materials handling, biological system monitoring, controlled plant environments, risk analysis, soil and water preservation, waste management strategies, water quality studies, and various engineering disciplines.
