The School of Art, Art History, and Design provides Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) programs in studio art and Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees in art history. Students pursuing an M.F.A. can specialize in various disciplines, including ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture—either individually or through interdisciplinary combinations. All graduate students receive access to shared workspaces, communal areas, a dedicated computer lab, and a fully outfitted woodworking facility. The department's creative environment is further enhanced by the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden, home to an exceptional collection of 20th-century American art. Additional cultural resources include the Lentz Center for Asian Culture, the Great Plains Art Collection, and the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery, which regularly host exhibitions and guest lectures.
