The School of Art, Art History, and Design provides Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) programs in studio art and Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees in art history. Students pursuing an M.F.A. can specialize in single or combined studio disciplines including ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. All graduate students receive shared studio spaces along with access to communal work areas, a digital lab, and a fully outfitted woodworking facility. The department's artistic environment is enhanced by the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden, featuring an exceptional university-owned collection of 20th-century American artworks. Furthermore, cultural institutions like the Lentz Center for Asian Culture, the Great Plains Art Collection, and the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery regularly host rotating exhibitions and educational presentations.
