Students pursuing the Nutrition and Exercise specialization or engaged in the Exercise Physiology and Nutrition study track (Faculty expertise) will develop fundamental skills in nutrition, physical activity, research methodology, and statistical analysis. Instruction occurs through advanced research in faculty laboratories and/or customized course plans tailored to individual student objectives. The Nutrition and Health Sciences Department provides graduate programs in both Research Focus Areas and Career Concentrations, guided by faculty expertise. Admission to our graduate program requires approval from at least one faculty member listed under the Areas of Study. Applicants should identify one to three potential faculty collaborators. Prospective students are highly advised to initiate contact with faculty members before or during the application period. Faculty websites offer additional details. Establishing a productive mentor-mentee dynamic is crucial for both graduate candidates and faculty advisors.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate (bachelors) or higher degree from an institution that is regionally accredited or from an institution that is accredited by an organization recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or from an accredited foreign institution that is recognized by the Office of Graduate Studies. If the student's native language is not English, verification of English proficiency is required. Unofficial transcripts: Transcripts are required of all post-secondary work, from which college credit was earned or not earned, listing courses, marks, and a bachelors or higher degree conferred. Applicants to the Office of Graduate Studies whose native language is not English are required to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall band score of at least 6.5 Certified English Translation: International students must upload copies of all college or university level transcripts or mark sheets (records of courses and marks earned), with certicates, diplomas, and degrees earned plus certied English translations.
