The Modern Languages and Literatures Department provides instruction in Arabic, German, Japanese, Romance Languages (including French and Spanish), and Slavic languages (such as Czech and Russian). Classes are primarily taught in the target language whenever feasible. The curriculum focuses on developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while exploring the culture, literature, and traditions of each language's native country. Throughout the academic year, department students can attend language-specific lectures and film screenings. Additionally, language labs support and enhance classroom learning.
