Ethnic Studies delves into the investigation and analysis of elements influencing the historical and contemporary lives of diverse ethnic communities. The Institute for Ethnic Studies operates across academic disciplines and colleges, concentrating on African-American, Latino/a, and Native populations in the U.S. and globally. Students can pursue an Ethnic Studies major or minor (detailed below).
