The Institute for Ethnic Studies operates across academic disciplines and colleges, concentrating on African-American, Latino/a, and Native populations in the U.S. and globally. Students can pursue an Ethnic Studies major or minor (detailed below). Additional specialized minors include African Studies, African-American Studies (see African and African-American Studies), U.S. Latina/Latino Studies (refer to Latino and Latin American Studies), and Native American Studies (see separate catalog entry). Both major and minor programs are offered in Latin American Studies (listed under Latino and Latin American Studies).
