The Master of Arts in English Teaching Option provides a well-rounded curriculum covering advanced topics in composition, linguistics, literary studies, critical theory, and teaching methodologies.
Students pursuing this graduate degree can choose between two pathways:
Pathway One focuses on enhancing the professional skills of current middle and high school English language arts educators.
Pathway Two caters to individuals holding a Bachelor's degree in English or similar fields who seek secondary teaching certification (grades 5-12) while earning their Master's in English Teaching. Program graduates often secure positions in secondary education or advance to leadership roles within English departments and curriculum development at middle and high schools. Applications are accepted year-round, with an annual intake of approximately 7-10 students and more favorable admission rates compared to other programs.
