The Department provides four graduate certificate options: Public Policy, Public Administration, Nonprofit Administration, and Law, Public Policy and Public Administration. These certificate programs share the same curriculum as the MPA degree. Credits earned in any certificate program can be transferred entirely toward the Master of Public Administration should a student choose to pursue this path. Students must notify the MPA Director during their final certificate semester to initiate this transition. The Public Administration Certificate equips government professionals with essential competencies through foundational coursework vital for public sector careers. These courses deliver fundamental expertise that elevates professional standards in public service. While many public employees hold technical undergraduate or graduate degrees, they often lack core management training specific to public administration. This certificate program serves as a pathway for public servants to acquire crucial organizational knowledge and administrative skills.
