Statistics is a contemporary science focused on drawing conclusions and making decisions from data affected by randomness and uncertainty. It encompasses experimental design, survey methodology, data summarization, model development and analysis, forecasting, and decision-making. Statistical analysis reveals comparative risks like air travel versus driving, calculates lottery odds, predicts life spans, and forecasts election outcomes.
