This program offers a Doctorate of Education through the Department of Learning, Teaching & Curriculum, specializing in Reading Education. As part of the Literacy Education Program within the same department, it explores various educational disciplines including literacy, mathematics, social studies, and science education—covering research, curriculum design, policy, teacher training, and student outcomes. Participants will learn to conduct independent research in elementary education, mentor college-level students effectively, and appreciate service roles within academic institutions. These objectives are met through coursework, internships, and hands-on research and teaching experiences.
To earn the EdD in Learning, Teaching and Curriculum, students must complete at least 72 credit hours beyond their bachelor's degree. Applicants should hold a relevant master's degree, which may count for up to 30 credit hours toward the program. The curriculum is structured for completion within three years.
