The Developmental Psychology program was established in 1999 and now features seven core faculty members specializing in cognitive and social development research, with a focus spanning from infancy to emerging adulthood. Currently, Dr. David Geary serves as the program director.
Our program primarily focuses on research training. Starting their first semester, graduate students work on research projects under their primary advisor while completing complementary coursework. They develop expertise in statistics, research methods, and both social and cognitive development. Financial assistance, including tuition waivers and monthly stipends, is provided through research positions, teaching assistantships, or fellowships. Students receive support for a minimum of five years, often continuing throughout their entire graduate studies if they remain in the program longer.
