The Natural Resources PhD program with a Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences specialization concentrates on managing resources at organism, population, and ecosystem levels. This doctoral program equips graduates for research and teaching roles in academia or other high-level scientific careers. While many PhD candidates hold a master's degree, it's not mandatory for admission. Prospective students interested in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences (including limnology and conservation biology) should possess solid foundations in biological and physical sciences, covering subjects like biology, botany, zoology, ecology, physiology, and genetics. Coursework in plant taxonomy, invertebrate zoology, ichthyology, ornithology, and mammalogy is strongly recommended, along with foundational knowledge in chemistry, mathematics, statistics, and physics.
