In the 1940s, MU launched its inaugural standalone master's and PhD programs in speech-language pathology and audiology. The university's master's program in Speech-Language Pathology has maintained uninterrupted accreditation from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology since 1966.
