The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS BA) program allows students to craft a personalized major tailored to their academic and professional goals. Participants select two or three focus areas, known as component areas, which can include courses from a single discipline or thematically connected classes across multiple departments. These component courses may be drawn from any MU department or program, or through approved transfer credits.
Students pursue the IDS BA for diverse motivations: crafting a distinctive degree, merging multiple interests, requiring scheduling flexibility, aiming for efficient graduation, or preparing for advanced studies. Career possibilities are as diverse as the chosen component area combinations.
