Our programs include a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences, with the BS offering an optional specialization in Medical Science and Human Biology. These degrees equip students for advanced studies, professional programs, or immediate career opportunities. The BS with a Medical Science and Human Biology focus is designed for those aiming for professional schools such as medicine, dentistry, physician assistant training, or veterinary medicine.
All three degree paths include foundational coursework in behavioral sciences, social sciences, and humanities, while allowing students to customize their studies through elective choices.
A key distinction between the BS and BA is that the BS mandates additional credits in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics compared to the BA.
BS students may fulfill their second language requirement by either completing a language sequence or choosing between two alternative tracks: Environmental and Conservation Biology or Medicine, Health & Society.
For the BA degree, the second language requirement can be satisfied through 12 college-level credits in one language or waived by completing four high school units in a single language or demonstrating proficiency in another language.
