Land and atmospheric science (LAAS) is an interdisciplinary scientific program centered on understanding Earth system processes involving land and atmosphere interactions. Students can choose to specialize in conventional atmospheric or soil science fields or create a customized interdisciplinary curriculum combining both disciplines. Unlike structured programs with predefined tracks, LAAS offers flexibility for students to tailor their studies according to their specific interests within the program's framework. This comprehensive approach integrates elements from chemistry, physics, biology, atmospheric sciences, and geology.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.20.
Applicants to the LAAS PhD program are expected to have an MS degree or equivalent in a related field of science.
