Physical Activity and Health is a growing field focused on enhancing wellness and reducing chronic illness risks by encouraging physical activity across diverse groups. This specialization offers students in-depth knowledge about health promotion, disease prevention through physical activity, and epidemiological research methods. The curriculum encompasses multiple subjects such as physical activity epidemiology, exercise physiology, behavioral psychology in exercise, movement science, and statistical analysis, equipping students with the necessary skills to engage in and comprehend research within this domain. Current research explores the validation of new physical activity measurement tools, the health impacts of innovative technologies (like active video games and virtual reality) on fitness and motor skills, motion sickness, and the connections between physical activity and outcomes related to aging and cancer, including cognitive function and biomarkers.
