Our cross-disciplinary graduate program brings together budding historians from around the globe to examine, question, and analyze historical events. Minnesota's distinguished faculty nurture the development of perceptive, reflective, and committed scholars who share a deep enthusiasm for uncovering and comprehending history. Specialization options encompass African studies, ancient civilizations, East and South Asian history, late antiquity through medieval periods, European history from medieval to modern times, early modern global studies, Middle Eastern history, Latin American studies, and U.S. history including its colonial roots. Research facilities feature the Center for Austrian Studies, Center for German and European Studies, Center for Medieval Studies, Immigration History Research Center, Minnesota Population Center, Modern Greek Studies program, Center for Early Modern History, Institute for Advanced Study, and Consortium for the Study of the Premodern World.
Completion of a Bachelor of Arts or equivalent.
