The Computer Science PhD program provides a comprehensive curriculum covering both theoretical and practical aspects of computer science, alongside extensive research opportunities across diverse specializations. Faculty mentors guide students in numerous disciplines including algorithm design and computational theory, high-performance and parallel computing, distributed systems, AI, robotics, and computer vision. Additional focus areas encompass database systems and data analytics, human-computer interaction, information systems, computer graphics, software development and programming languages, hardware architecture and compiler design, network systems, computational biology and bioinformatics, machine intelligence, and cybersecurity. Students also have the option to pursue interdisciplinary research combining computer science with other academic domains. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering faculty actively contribute to various interdisciplinary graduate programs such as Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Health Informatics, Cognitive Science, Scientific Computing, and Human Factors Engineering.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.45.
A degree in any major with a substantial background in computer science is required; a computer science major is preferred.
English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL iBT – 85; IELTS Academic – 6.5; MELAB – 80; Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic) – 59; Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) C1 Advanced – 180.
