The Bachelor of Science (majoring in architecture) is a pre-professional degree that delivers a studio-focused design curriculum alongside comprehensive courses in architectural history, theory, and building technology. This program immerses students in the formal, cultural, material, environmental, and historical influences that define constructed spaces. It cultivates responsibility toward both local and global built environments through collaborations with College of Design faculty, research centers, service-learning courses, and international study options. The BS curriculum features five consecutive semester-long design studios, each concentrating on fundamental architectural disciplines: 1. material systems, 2. site and environmental design, 3. program and building typologies, 4. urban design, and 5. advanced architectural concepts. Through practical workshops and supporting coursework, students explore how these core principles shape the physical, spatial, and sensory dimensions of architecture.
