The CSE master's program is designed for students aiming to significantly enhance their expertise in computer science and engineering disciplines. Our chip design and architecture research brings together experts from various fields to study theoretical foundations, experimental approaches, and practical applications in silicon chip development, computer system structures, and emerging computing technologies that could surpass conventional CMOS transistors. This research area focuses on developing innovative tools for sophisticated design processes, encompassing CAD algorithms, digital verification methods, post-production validation, and hardware acceleration solutions. Our VLSI design investigations cover diverse subjects, blending hands-on research with prototype testing and visionary concepts. Current key research areas feature energy-efficient design methodologies, manufacturing-optimized design approaches, interconnect-focused architecture, clock distribution systems, nanometer-scale mixed-signal circuits, and advanced physical layout techniques.
