Manufacturers today face extraordinary challenges in the current business environment. Globalization and competitive pressures have made it imperative to transform and optimize production systems. To thrive, manufacturing professionals require both technical expertise and a firm grasp of business principles and management strategies. This combined degree program allows eligible students to simultaneously work toward a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing (MEM) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). The College of Engineering oversees the M.Eng. degree, while the Stephen M. Ross School of Business manages the MBA component. The curriculum is structured to fulfill all requirements concurrently. Full-time students can complete this dual degree in two and a half years, while part-time enrollment is available through Ross's Evening Program. The program excludes applicants who already hold either an MEng in Manufacturing or an MBA. First-year students in either program may apply for the dual-degree track. Coursework completed before admission to either program component cannot be applied toward MBA requirements.
Applicants complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
