These programs are crafted to expand on a student's undergraduate foundation, offering deeper and broader knowledge in the dynamic field of Mechanical Engineering. The department provides two graduate options. The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) follows a conventional thesis-based model, combining research and coursework that concludes with a written thesis and its oral defense. Alternatively, the Master of Mechanical Engineering (MME) is a coursework-focused program, replacing the thesis with additional advanced classes.
Both the Master of Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering aim to equip graduates for rapid career progression by enhancing their undergraduate education with specialized coursework and focused exploration of key industry challenges.
Upon completing the program, MSME students will be prepared to:
Recognize, define, and resolve complex mechanical engineering challenges.
Communicate technical concepts and methods clearly to professional audiences.
Assess and synthesize current scientific literature to remain at the forefront of their specialization.
Perform independent research and critically analyze, interpret, and present findings.
