Researchers emphasize the value of their data, while professionals focus on its practical application. The Climate & Space Applied Climate MEng program serves as the connection between these perspectives, positioning students as interpreters who, with a grounding in science and engineering, gain access to careers in public policy, urban development, healthcare, water resource management, and engineering. This degree aims to transform valuable insights into actionable knowledge by cultivating expertise in: Core principles of climate science, Data sourcing methods, Contextualizing information for real-world use, Statistical analysis, Geographic Information Systems, and Critical thinking. The curriculum concludes with a sponsor-led capstone project that reveals problem-solving approaches and enables students to design comprehensive systems integrating data, insights, strategic planning, decision-making, and implementation. These competencies prove valuable across diverse career paths.
All Climate & Space MEng students are admitted to the program through the College of Engineering. Climate & Space requires a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
