The University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business and Law School provide a joint degree program allowing students to simultaneously earn an MBA and JD in four years. This accelerated MBA/JD Dual Degree program requires completing all coursework for both degrees within the four-year period, with degrees granted together upon completion. Candidates cannot apply if they've already obtained either an MBA or JD separately. Applications are accepted from first-year students in either program, with second-year Fall-start law students also eligible. Students may commence their studies in either school first, with each institution applying its own deferred admission policies. During the fourth year, participants take classes from both disciplines simultaneously, with tuition charged at the higher rate of the two schools when taking cross-disciplinary courses. Academic advisors from both programs should be consulted to develop a suitable study plan. Importantly, no credits earned before admission to either program can be applied toward the dual degree requirements.
