Established in 1971, the Neuroscience Graduate Program at the University of Michigan holds the distinction of being the nation's oldest neuroscience training initiative. This cross-disciplinary program spans multiple schools including the Medical School, College of Literature, Arts, and Sciences, Dental School, School of Kinesiology, and College of Engineering, fostering collaboration among faculty and students. Our tight-knit community of neuroscience researchers and students serves as the central hub for neuroscience activity at U of M. Earning a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from our program opens diverse career opportunities while immersing students in the dynamic world of neuroscience research. With over 150 faculty members from more than 20 departments across various schools, our program boasts distinguished scholars including a National Academy of Sciences member, a former Society for Neuroscience president, and multiple highly cited researchers recognized by the Institute for Scientific Information.
