The Molecular and Cellular Pathology Graduate Program operates within the Department of Pathology, leveraging its distinctive role connecting fundamental and clinical sciences to foster collaborative, cross-disciplinary research initiatives. The PhD program's core mission is preparing scholars for autonomous scientific careers in academia or biotech industries, concentrating on investigating disease mechanisms at molecular and cellular levels. Currently, the program supports 18 enrolled students and approximately 30 faculty members, with numerous professors maintaining dual affiliations across University of Michigan's biomedical departments and graduate programs, ensuring students receive comprehensive, interdisciplinary education.
