The Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience program brings together a varied team of faculty and students focused on studying different aspects of cognitive science and neuroscience. Their work explores areas like performance, sensory processing, language, reasoning, decision-making, categorization, memory, attention, and movement coordination. While primarily dedicated to advancing core scientific understanding, researchers also apply these insights to real-world challenges such as improving technology interfaces, decision support systems, and healthcare education. Designed for students seeking expertise in quantitative methods, neuroscience, or AI alongside psychology, the program provides specialized training tracks. These pathways develop technical competencies applicable to Formal Modeling, Mathematical Psychology, and other structured research methodologies within cognitive science and neuroscience studies.
