Students can choose to complement their Sociology major with a submajor in Sociology & Social Work. The SSW submajor provides a focused curriculum exploring the connections between sociology and social work, covering topics like social and economic disparities, addressing human needs, and strengthening individuals and communities. Sociology equips you with analytical frameworks to tackle pressing societal challenges, from wealth gaps to migration issues, deprivation to systemic incarceration. The discipline develops critical thinking abilities, data analysis techniques, and skills for constructing fact-based positions.
