Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to instruct grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program combines rigorous coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom practice. Graduates develop both teaching methodologies and specialized content expertise, equipping them to effectively educate diverse student populations in middle and high school settings. Participants acquire practical experience integrating modern technology into contemporary educational environments. Upon finishing the program, students receive their bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, including approvals in their primary teaching field and potential secondary specialization areas.
