Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to instruct grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program blends academic coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom experience, equipping graduates with both teaching methods and subject expertise to effectively educate diverse middle and high school students. Participants develop practical skills for integrating technology into modern classrooms. Upon finishing the program, students receive their bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, which includes their primary teaching focus and potential additional specialty areas.
