The Interdisciplinary Astronomy (IDA) program serves as an excellent complementary major for those wishing to incorporate astronomical studies into their primary field. This curriculum offers the essential scientific foundation for technical roles in astronomy or professions such as education, science communication, and public engagement. STEM-focused students can easily integrate the IDA major with minimal extra coursework, while humanities students can strategically employ it to incorporate STEM elements into their studies. While including core mathematics and physics courses, the IDA major features less rigorous requirements in these subjects compared to the Academic Track. Tailored to individual career aspirations, we encourage students to consult with an advisor about customizing the IDA program to their specific needs.
