The Master of Science in Education (M.S. Ed.) in Education and Social Change (ESoC) examines educational systems beyond traditional classroom boundaries, teaching environments, and urban student populations.
This program has three core objectives: enhancing teaching methods for diverse learners, equipping educators for school leadership positions, and training teachers to champion reforms that strengthen public education. Coursework employs critical analysis to highlight culturally responsive teaching practices, student motivation and wellness, language and literacy skill development, and data-informed instructional strategies through formative assessments. ESoC delivers innovative theoretical frameworks and practical approaches for promoting equitable, socially just education in varied learning environments. The program also helps meet Florida Department of Education certification requirements for provisional certificate holders pursuing full certification. Prior educational training or teaching experience is not mandatory.
