The University of Miami's Anthropology Department provides an engaging two-year Master's program focused on the Professional Practice of Anthropology, designed to prepare graduates for today's competitive workforce or further academic pursuits.

UM's Anthropology MA program offers three specialized tracks (applied archaeology, biological anthropology, and cultural/medical anthropology) that combine targeted skill development with interdisciplinary coursework spanning anthropology's four fields and other university disciplines. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning through internships and fieldwork, recognizing that essential anthropological skills often develop beyond traditional classroom settings. Our faculty members, all active researchers in their specialties, frequently involve motivated students in their current projects. Several program participants have even seen their graduate research published in prestigious scientific publications.
