The Great Plains Studies interdisciplinary specialization explores human-environment interactions in the low-density Great Plains region. This expansive area extends west from the Missouri River to the Rocky Mountains and north from the Rio Grande through Canada's prairie provinces. Administered through the College of Arts and Sciences and supported by the Center for Great Plains Studies - a university-wide interdisciplinary research and teaching center approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents - this program offers graduate specialization for students enrolled in various UNL graduate programs including Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication, Agronomy, Anthropology/Geography, Architecture, Communication Studies, Community and Regional Planning, Economics, English, Geosciences, History, Natural Resource Sciences, Teaching, Learning & Teacher Education, and Textiles, Clothing and Design.
