The Biology Department educates graduate students through comprehensive research training, offering a curriculum that covers key biological disciplines while maintaining adaptability for cross-disciplinary studies. Key focus areas encompass developmental biology, climate change biology, neuroscience, and ecological relationships. We maintain robust partnerships with the Abess Center for Ecosystem Science & Policy, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the Miller School of Medicine, the Physics Department, and Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science. Prospective students must secure departmental faculty sponsorship for admission, except when applying for rotation fellowships (detailed subsequently). Collaborative opportunities with these affiliated programs are available through joint sponsorship with external faculty members.
