The Department of Chemistry's 5-year BS/MS program strengthens undergraduate preparation in chemical sciences, enhancing students' competitiveness for job opportunities and advanced studies, including Ph.D. programs and health professional schools like medical and dental programs.
Prospective students must first secure a graduate Chemistry faculty mentor for the BS/MS program. The Chemistry BS/MS Program Director can assist in connecting students with potential faculty mentors. It's recommended that students interview multiple faculty members before choosing their research advisor. Beyond standard Bachelor of Science requirements, participants must finish two semesters of undergraduate research (CHM 488) before their Master's year. All research credits must be completed under the same advisor during both Senior and Master's years.
