Our graduate program partners with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) to deliver three biomedical engineering degrees: a project-based MS, a thesis-based MS, and a PhD with dissertation. Students can specialize in Biosensors, Biomechanics, Bioelectricity, or Biomaterials. Biomedical Engineering applies engineering concepts to enhance healthcare, such as creating hip implants, developing cardiac monitoring devices, or researching cancer treatments. The project track requires completing 33 credit hours.
The UofM-UTHSC Joint Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering provides both thesis and non-thesis MS options along with PhD degrees. This collaborative initiative leverages UofM's engineering expertise and UTHSC's medical programs, with degrees conferred by both institutions. All enrolled students participate in this joint academic venture.
