The University of Rochester's biomedical engineering graduate program, jointly operated by the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the School of Medicine and Dentistry, focuses on using engineering principles to solve biomedical challenges at both master's and PhD levels. The Department of Biomedical Engineering also provides a specialized one-year MS program in Biomedical Engineering through the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation (CMTI), concentrating on medical device development.
Additionally, students can pursue a one-year master's in biomedical engineering with a focus on medical technology and innovation. This unique program includes an intensive eight-week clinical experience at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where participants gain firsthand exposure to healthcare environments, enhancing their ability to create solutions that meet real clinical demands
