Should you need additional details or have questions about any part of this document, please consult the Coordinator of Graduate Studies. The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures provides a Master of Arts program in Romance Languages, allowing specialization in either French or Spanish. The program requires thirty-three (33) credit hours in total. With advance approval from the relevant graduate coordinator, students may take up to twelve (12) credits in a related field. Those seeking teaching certification might need to complete extra coursework. A minimum of twenty-three (23) credits must be from 7000-level courses (equivalent to eight [8] courses). Students must successfully finish at least six (6) courses in literature, linguistics, grammar, stylistics, and culture, all conducted in their chosen language of study.
